South Ayrshire

KO-NEKT’s Play & Skills Centre in Ayr offers truly flexible care, from group sessions in our centre to one-to-one or two-to-one support in the community, or a blend of both. Our purpose-built zones — including a sensory room, indoor and outdoor play areas and kitchen facilities — provide the perfect environment for building confidence, resilience and essential life skills. Guided by a person-centred approach, our support is shaped by the young people themselves, promoting choice, inclusion and independence within a nurturing, community-connected setting.

Kirsty Buchanan

Services Development Manager  (aka Wonder Women)

With over 24 years of experience across private, public and third-sector childcare settings (plus time as a personal assistant, befriender and family support worker).  I hold qualifications in Playwork and a BA in Childhood Practice, along with years of hands-on experience and ongoing training.  Supporting children with additional needs has always been a passion of mine. I joined KO-NEKT in 2020 and oversee the Ayr Centre and our amazing team – but I’m not just behind a desk! I’m a hands-on manager who loves getting stuck into activities, building strong relationships with the children, young people, and families we support. I also deliver Nurture groups in our North Ayrshire Hub – something I find deeply rewarding. I truly believe in KO-NEKT’s mission and the difference we make.
